Vibrant Cities

Bask in our urban parks
Nature is everywhere, even in the heart of Québec’s cities. Parks including the illustrious Plains of Abraham in Québec City or the no less famous Mount Royal Park are excellent places to relax or do a variety of activities.
Enjoy the present moment at a park.

The Village transformed into Aires Libres
Soak up the warm weather in Montréal’s Gay Village, which is closed to traffic during the Aires Libres event. Québec draws in visitors from around the world with its openness and joie de vivre.

Make way for theatre!
It’s time to raise the curtain on this electrifying theatre festival, held every year in Québec City. Get yourself to the Carrefour international de théâtre.

Pedalling across Québec
May marks the start of bicycle season. It’s time to explore Québec’s 12,000-km cycling network! If you find yourself in Montréal, hop on a BIXI to bike between neighbourhoods or participate in the Tour de l’Île!

National parks: a hiker’s paradise
Go trekking through Québec’s rich and varied landscapes like the coureurs des bois of yesteryear! From May 17, the province’s national parks will also be open to dogs, except Parc national d’Anticosti and de l’Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé.
Get out on our trails.

Rafting adventures
The arrival of spring means rivers will be running high with melted snow. Rafting season is here!

Local Flavors

Public Market season is here
In Québec, we love good times—and good food! Quebeckers can hardly wait for the province’s public markets (like Montréal’s Marché Jean-Talon) to open. Come meet local producers in a cheerful, vibrant and enticing atmosphere.

Sample, savour and explore!
There are endless culinary events for foodies to drool over all year round! In May, check out Le rendez-vous des saveurs de Gatineau to discover mouthwatering pairings of wines from around the world and homegrown flavours.
