Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel

Religious building and site Region:Montréal City : MontréalDistrict : Old Montréal - Vieux-Port

Like generations of Montrealers, you're bound to be moved by the beauty of Montreal's oldest chapel, dating from 1771. Come admire the artistic treasures of this heritage gem and the model ships hanging from the ceiling - there's a good reason why it is known as the Sailors' Church.

Bask in its serene atmosphere. This is the final resting place of Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys (1620 - 1700), who founded not only the chapel but also Montreal's first school and the Congrégation de Notre-Dame.
