With some 100 wineries and over 150 microbreweries, there’s reason to say “cheers” in Québec!

We have well-established microbreweries in most regions and over half our wineries are located in the Eastern Townships and the Montérégie region. We also excel at making spirits, such as gin, maple whisky, black currant liqueur, and more. Special routes and guided tours showcase the expertise of all of these producers.

Seasons

Some producers are open year-round, others during summer only. In summer, enjoy a stroll through the vineyards.

What’ll it be?

  • Many Québec wines are available at SAQ (Société des alcools du Québec) outlets. They can also be purchased on site at the winery and at some public markets. Our wines pair beautifully with our delicious Québec cheeses! The month of September is synonymous with grape harvesting and a number of activities are held in conjunction with this.

  • Brewed largely according to classic French, Belgian and British methods, Québec beers stand out from most North American beers because of their lengthy fermentation. Beers brewed here include lager, pilsener, porter, stout and white beer, all of which can be found at grocery and convenience stores. But nothing beats putting back a cold one right at the microbrewery. Learn more about our master brewers at our many beer festivals.

  • Québec now boasts more than 30 cider mills producing top-quality cider. The Montérégie region is where most cider is produced due to its high concentration of orchards. The Montérégie Cider Route showcases the different aspects of apple and cider production. And at Montréal’s Mondial des cidres, you can taste this delicious beverage and learn about the expertise of our master cider producers.

  • Red currant liqueur, maple whisky, fire cider, Gin de Neige, pear cider, Caribou and tomato wine... Sound familiar? These are just some of the original spirits created in Québec, and they’re delicious. Sweet and alcoholic, they delight even the most discerning palates. Québec also excels at gin and vodka production. These spirits are available at the producers and at certain SAQ outlets and public markets.
