7 must-do après-ski activities

In Québec, the one thing that’s as popular as skiing is après-ski! Whether you’re staying at a resort, a charming hotel or in a quaint ski town nearby, there’s always plenty of ways to have fun off the slopes. Get comfortable, embrace the European-style culture, taste local flavours, relax at a spa or attend an outdoor music festival to feel the festive spirit. This is one Québec tradition you don’t want to miss!

Enjoy après-ski, in all its forms

1- Relax at a Nordic spa

To recharge after a full day on the slopes, what could be better than a visit to one of the many Nordic spas that have bloomed in Québec over the last 20 years? For the ultimate relaxing experience, combine thermotherapy with a massage in the Laurentian countryside, surrounded by peaceful, snow-covered landscapes, and extend your stay in a charming inn or renowned hotel nearby.

2- Have a beer with friends

Top off a fantastic ski day with some friends and Québec craft beer. With many microbreweries to discover, you won’t need to trek far from the mountain! The Laurentians, Québec City, Charlevoix and the Eastern Townships all offer great locations nearby or even at the bottom of their ski hills for you to enjoy.

3- Savour a fun, gourmet meal

A full day of skiing definitely stirs up an appetite! Whether you’re looking for a generously sized poutine or an accessible gourmet meal prepared with local ingredients, our restaurants and bistros will welcome you with open arms and take care of those taste buds! While in the Eastern Townships, don’t miss your chance to try the region’s renowned wine, cheese and fresh produce. Your stomach will thank you.

4- Try something else outdoors

Want to add a little variety to your ski vacation? No problem. Québec’s great outdoors is the place to enjoy plenty of other winter activities like snowshoeing, tubing, fat biking, and ice skating.

5- Enjoy special events and activities

Whether it’s a procession by torchlight down the slope, an outdoor music show or a delicious barbecue after some spring skiing, the resorts are never short of ideas to keep their guests entertained.

6- Stay on location

Whether you stay in a mountain cabin, a condo or hotel at the bottom of the slopes or nearby, you will appreciate the precious moments spent by the fire in good company. The Québec City and Charlevoix regions are used to crowds of visitors—and with good reason. Their cozy and luxurious accommodations, like Château Frontenac or the Hôtel de Glace, make you feel like you’re home the second you arrive.

7- Discover charming villages and urban centres

While in the Laurentians, Eastern Townships or Québec City and Charlevoix regions, why not spend the evening in one of the ski villages or cities nearby? If the cozy buildings don’t charm you, the friendly locals definitely will!
