Réserve faunique de Port-Daniel

Wildlife reserve Region:Gaspésie City : Port-Daniel-Gascons
A visit to Port-Daniel Wildlife Reserve is like a trip back to nature in a land of contrasts. Created in 1948 to protect the salmon of Port-Daniel River, the wildlife reserve is located a few kilometers from its namesake municipality. With its 65 km² of lakes, rivers and spectacular valleys, the reserve casts a spell on all who visit.
The municipality of Port-Daniel, the gateway to the reserve, faces a magnificent bay where fishermen and explorers of old would take shelter in inclement weather. Here, animal and plant life flourish where the waters of the Port-Daniel River empty into the sea.
Visitors traveling to the wildlife reserve cross a rugged landscape of headlands and capes sheltering small coves–an enjoyable way to get back in touch with our natural environment. A visit to Port-Daniel Wildlife Reserve is an invitation to relax in a little corner of paradise where nature generously shares some of her secrets and mysteries.
